MONOLITHE IV almost done…

“That will probably be the last update I do before we complete this new full-length. We only have some keyboards left to get in right now, and then we’ll be ready to mix the beast. Sebastien Latour did a fantastic job lately, arranging/orchestrating a piece that will end up in the album; a really amazing and surprising part.

We also recorded some extra vocals with our special guest Emma Elvaston. A great performance of dark and eerie back vocals & choirs adding strange and ghostly atmospheres. I was very demanding but she nailed it just fine!” SB

“Another update from the studio. We’ll stay away from Monolithe IV this week to focus on a special cover we wish to include on our forthcoming Monolithe Zero compilation album. This is a perfect choice for Monolithe! That one should be out by the end of 2013 too.” SB

“A little update from the studio. We finished the recordings of all bass and guitar tracks of MONOLITHE IV. We made an early premix version which sounds fantastic. It’s now time to care about keyboards and those stuff. Later this April, it will be time for M. Richard Loudin to enter the picture as well. We’ll perhaps also have an extra musician involved in this record; But this is still being discussed at the moment. Well, everything’s going great for now. Stay tuned for more!” SB

MONOLITHE is currently busy recording their 4th full-length album at Red Reed Studio. The band’s composer, Sylvain Begot, comments about “Monolithe IV” : “Once again we tried to create something that would instantly evoke MONOLITHE’s style of music and mythology without being a repetition of what we’ve already achieved in the past. “Monolithe IV” is an album of contrasts : it contains both the bleakest and most beautiful music we ever wrote. Some very eerie stuff too… This album mixes the purity of our early sort of Funeral Doom with our later thirst for progression and innovation. I like to call it Post Funeral Doom, if that makes any sense.”If all goes according to plan, this new piece of massive sound will be released in Autumn 2013. Furthermore, DEBEMUR MORTI PRODUCTIONS will reissue the entire MONOLITHE back catalogue : “Monolithe I”, “Monolithe II” and “Monolithe Zero” (which will feature “Interlude Premier” and “Interlude Second” as well as bonus material). These reissues will come as classy digipack CDs, will include additional liner notes and complete new artwork courtesy of Norwegian artist Robert Høyem. Robert is already known for crafting the cover of MONOLITHE’s third opus, “Monolithe III”.“Monolithe III” is streaming in its entirety on DMP’s Bandcamp page and is currently available worldwide in digipack CD through your best local purveyor or through DMP’s webshop : www.eitrin.com.

MONOLITHE IV in the making…

“Benoît and I invaded Red Reed Studio early this morning to start the recording of MONOLITHE’s 6th record, 4th full-length album, titled MONOLITHE IV.

We tracked a lot of rhythm guitars today and our fingers hurt. But that’s worth the pain, really, we have so much amazing riffs in there!

I’m really excited about this new album and I can’t wait to go on with the recording. I FEEL we have something special here.”
