We finished the recordings of all bass and guitar tracks of MONOLITHE IV. We made an early premix version which sounds fantastic. It’s now time to care about keyboards and those stuff. Later this April, it will be time for M. Richard Loudin to enter the picture as well. We’ll perhaps also have an extra musician involved in this record; But this is still being discussed at the moment. Well, everything’s going great for now. Stay tuned for more!” SB

Biography 2013

Among the contemporary Doom Metal bands who have risen in the international scene during the last...

Hi! The band’s composer, Sylvain Begot, comments about “Monolithe IV” : “Once again we tried to create something that would instantly evoke MONOLITHE’s style of music and mythology without being a repetition of what we’ve already achieved in the past. “Monolithe IV” is an album of contrasts : it contains both the bleakest and most beautiful music we ever wrote. Some very eerie stuff too… This album mixes the purity of our early sort of Funeral Doom with our later thirst for progression and innovation. I like to call it Post Funeral Doom, if that makes any sense.”
If all goes according to plan, this new piece of massive sound will be released in Autumn 2013.

Furthermore, DEBEMUR MORTI PRODUCTIONS will reissue the entire MONOLITHE back catalogue : “Monolithe I”, “Monolithe II” and “Monolithe Zero” (which will feature “Interlude Premier” and “Interlude Second” as well as bonus material). These reissues will come as classy digipack CDs, will include additional liner notes and complete new artwork courtesy of Norwegian artist Robert Høyem. Robert is already known for crafting the cover of MONOLITHE’s third opus, “Monolithe III”.

“Monolithe III” is streaming in its entirety on DMP’s Bandcamp page and is currently available worldwide in digipack CD through your best local purveyor or through DMP’s webshop : www.eitrin.com.

MONOLITHE IV in the making...

“Benoît and I invaded Red Reed Studio early this morning to start the recording of...

Interview with Metal France (in French)

Interview with Metal France (in French)

Get your MONOLITHE III CD at Debemur Morti Productions’...

Get your MONOLITHE III CD at Debemur Morti Productions’ webshop for 9,99 euros (+shipping fees). http://www.eitrin.com/

The follow-up album to 2012’s Interlude Second EP and Monolithe III is set for a mid-winter/spring 2013 recording. This album, called Monolithe IV, is the last installment of the musical saga developped by the band since its debut album, 2003’s Monolithe I. Expect a late 2013 release.

Another glimpse of M3’s press feedback…

A few press quotes:

[Time For Metal]
• “Monolithe III” ist düster, langlebig, verträumt, und anders. [Disctopia]
• This is so more compelling than anything they’ve done before; it explores so many more emotions and feelings that you have to acknowledge the band has reached a new level in excellence. Such an inspirational work is worthy of your time and money, believe me.
[Metalship]
• Monolithe III has the most fitting name imaginable – it’s a monolithic triumph on all possible fronts.(…).If you have a better contender for album of the year, I’d like to hear it, because this album is beyond measure. [Angry Metal Guy]
• Set aside an hour and give “III” a go, and you’ll find one of doom’s more adventurous releases of the year. [Meat Mead Metal]
• Nous pouvons enfin crier au chef d’œuvre pour Sylvain Bégot et ses hommes de l’ombre. [Rock Hard]
• Monolithe III is a fifty-two minute joyride through different emotions, tempos and instrumental breaks (…) MONOLITHE’s ability to break free from the standard mold of what Funeral Doom is, is their biggest asset. If you have a decent attention span, then you should check this [Metal Observer]
• Extreme doom often feels beaten to death. With III, Monolithe shock it back to life. [Chronicles Of Chaos]
• This record is a massive 52 minutes in length, and yet there is never a dull moment. The flow is extraordinary, riffs twisting and bending, melting into one another with just the right amount of friction or smoothness. Monolithe III is something extraordinary. [Heavy Metal About]
• Set aside an hour and give “III” a go, and you’ll find one of doom’s more adventurous releases of the year. [Metal Maniacs]
• If you can’t take doom any further then add some new genre elements and that’s what Monolithe does very effectively. Adding soaring solo melodies akin to Evoken and Esoteric they create an atmosphere that is crushing yet visualizing (…) This is highly recommended for any doom metal fan. [Sputnik Music]
• I highly recommend Monolithe III to you, it’s an invitation to a space trip you shouldn’t miss out.
